Montes Ermos Grande Reserva Red
Tasting Notes
Clear, deep violet red color with purple tinges. It presents itself with ripe red and forest fruit, plum and cassis in harmony with notes of cherry compote perfectly matched with the spicy notes from the grape varieties used. The aging in wood gives it sweet notes of vanilla and roasting. It is full-bodied and structured presenting a fine complex aroma in the mouth with notes of red fruit and chocolate, the aftertaste is long and harmonious with quality tannins still present.
Winemaking
From the best vineyards of Freixo de Espada à Cinta, we select the Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca grapes that were subjected to a careful harvest to give rise to this complex wine. Pre-fermentation maceration, fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel mill vats. The batch aged for 18 months in extra fine grain American and French oak barrels.
